Father of Alexander the Great. Philip II ascended the throne inheriting a Kingdom that was poor economically, weak militarily, and looked down upon as a country. He would soon turn all this around, giving ATG a flourishing empire to build upon.
The obverse is striking portrait of Zeus in high relief, on the reverse is a large muscular racehorse from one of Philips stables. The large racehorse on the reverse is more desirable and one of the earlier issues.
