The 17K No Serif, Spiked F variety. A lustrous example that has a lovely orange-gold patina on its surfaces. This coin has also been recognized by CAC for its above average shipwreck look and quality.

When comparing SSCA recovery data regarding Double Eagles. They only brought up 1,108 1856s examples, many times fewer than the 1857s coins that were recovered.
