1872 Carson City $20 NGC MS 60

This is a rare Carson City Double Eagle, with a mintage of 26,900 but a estimated 400 examples survive in all grades.

The strike is bold, the coin is a bright yellow-gold with a nice mint fresh appeal throughout. The date is key in the series and the Mint State grade is one of the few that ever come to market so highly sought after. Carson City Double Eagles continue to bring strong money year after year as collectors/smart money snap them up.
