Ancient Greek Olympic Wrestlers
A beautiful piece of ancient art- in Silver struck over 2300 years ago. This example is well centered, bright, and displays a excellent hand hammered style. An Ancient coin typically found in VF-XF condition, a true rarity in Mint State. Truly a coin that belongs in the most prominent rare coin portfolio.
The obverse depicts in a dotted circle two Olympic wrestlers in lifelike fashion, locked in the opening hold.
The reverse shows a slinger, someone who uses a sling as a projectile weapon using a sone, clay, or lead sling-bullet aiming right. On the bottom right is a triskele, a motif that consists of a triple spiral of three bent human legs, the ancient badge of the city. All enclosed in a dotted box.
